This activity tests your mastery of the lab procedure to determine velocity in an enzyme mediated reaction by using a standard curve for the product of the reaction.

Assume that you are studying the following reaction, catalyzed by the enzyme turnip peroxidase:

4 guaiacol + 2 H₂O₂ tetraguaiacol + 8 H₂O

Solution of guaiacol are colorless; solutions of tetraguaiacol are brown. All solutions are made up in a buffer that maintains pH at 7.1, optimum for turnip peroxidase.
