Reproductive Technology: a Solution to Infertility in Humans

Infertility in humans poses a problem for approximately one fifth of all couples in the developed world. Many of the infertility problems may be overcome by high-tech medical solutions. The solutions which will be presented include: 1) surgery; 2) surrogate parenting; 3) artificial insemination (AID, AIH, AIDH); 4) adoption; 5) ovary transplant; 6) gamete intra fallopian transfer (GIFT); 7) zygote transfer and ZIFT; 8) in vitro fertilization; 9) frozen embryos; 10) embryo flushing; 11) in vitro evaluation of embryos; 12) direct intraperitoneal insemination; and 13) cloning.
