Tools for Studying the Immune Response to a Parasitic Nematode

During this exploration, we will introduce students to how we identify and use genotypically altered mice to investigate the immune response against a parasite. We will isolate genomic DNA and use PCR-based methods to identify different genotypes in a population. We will include information about the parasite’s life cycle, its intestinal habitat, and the immune response it elicits.
